CLOUDSCREENS: Support of cloud services for multimedia delivery and consumption

The CLOUDSCREENS project provided a unique multinational, multidisciplinary and inter-sectoral training network for early stage researchers, integrating scientific education, research training and immersion in an industrial environment.

The research topics were highly innovative comprising serious economic potential. The main objective of the CLOUDSCREENS project was to research new topics that contribute to creation of the future advanced software-based services for multimedia delivery and consumption, leveraging the ubiquitous cloud computing. The project focused on four interconnected topics:

  • quality of service in multi-service environments
  • personal spaces
  • smart environments
  • privacy protection in new generation interfaces

Four PhD researchers at Loughborough University London concentrate their work on the research, architectural design, and prototyping for systems that could be delivered as software application from the cloud.

This was a Marie Curie Initial Training Networks action funded by the European Commission's 7th Framework Program, coordinated by the Institute for Digital Technologies of Loughborough University London. The industrial partner of the project, Irdeto from the Netherlands, leaders in digital platform security, provided first quality industrial training and additional supervision for the researchers.

This was a four-year project ending on 31 December 2017.
