Retrieving your IT credentials

Before you arrive at Loughborough, all new students need to retrieve their IT credentials (email, username and password).

Access your IT credentials

Your IT credential information will be provided to you when you set up an IT account. You should be able to access your IT credentials approximately six weeks prior to the start date of your programme, and will receive an email with instructions on how to access this information once it becomes available.

Who do I contact if I have a problem?

If you are having problems retrieving your IT credentials using the link above, or you need advice on where to find your application ID, please contact IT Services on +44 (0)1509 222333.

Passwords

Protect your personal information by creating strong passwords for your University and personal accounts to keep them secure. For security reasons we do not recommend writing your password down.

Never reuse your Loughborough email address and password to register for other online services – if any of those other sites are compromised, criminals may then have access to your University IT account.

When creating a new password, it must meet the following:

  • 8 characters in length
  • NOT contain any personal details
  • MUST contain at least three out of the following four:
    • Uppercase letters
    • Lowercase letters
    • Numbers
    • Non-Alphanumeric characters (!"£$%^&*)
  • Avoid common words and number combinations (e.g. "password"; "1234")

Passwords can be changed by logging on to a University Computer and then pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL and clicking on Change Password.
