MSc Disability, Design and Innovation

UCL have taken over the leadership of the Global Disability Innovation Hub (GDI Hub). GDI Hub will be at the forefront of UCL’s new programmes based in UCL East, bringing community partners and start-ups, together with academics and businesses, to think about disability innovation from a new perspective.

The MSc Disability, Design and Innovation is the flagship programme for the newly established Global Disability Innovation Hub, which brings together world leading expertise in disability, technology and innovation from across the three founding partners: UCL, Loughborough University London and the London College of Fashion. It naturally blends hard engineering skills with the necessary understanding of the global policy and societal contexts of disability.

This multidisciplinary programme will create a new breed of graduates able to apply design thinking to the complex problem of disability.

The first term will equip you with the core research methods, combined with a solid base in Future Global Technologies for Disability and Development In the second term you will take part in a group project, take an option from a restricted range and develop your ability to build both marketing and business strategies to ensure your products, services or programmes are capable of delivering a sustainable, positive difference to disabled peoples’ lives.
