IDI hosts various academic seminars, events, and symposia throughout the year. Our annual design event FLUX showcases our postgraduate student work, ongoing doctoral research projects, and hosts speaker talks on new and emerging design research areas.
FLUX '23 Design Commoning
The Institute for Design Innovation FLUX ‘23 symposium focused on the theme of Design Commoning. This was hosted alongside a showcase of research and teaching at the Institute and an exhibition of selected Master’s student outputs from across each of the programmes.
FLUX Doctoral Symposium 2022
The FLUX Doctoral Symposium aimed to bring together our research communities in both our East Midlands and London campuses to exchange and strengthen our understanding of the role of design in a world in flux.
FLUX Design Symposium 2022
On the evening of the 29thSeptember renowned scholar of design for social innovation, Professor Ezio Manzini, kicked-off the FLUX symposium with a keynote lecture drawing on his latest work 'Livable Proximity' to respond to the theme of FLUX.
