Institute for Design Innovation

Dr Antonius van den Broek is a Programme Director and Lecturer at the Institute for Design Innovation. He is specialised in the business side of design, particularly in the communicative role of design in strategy and management.

Anaïs is trained as a cultural anthropologist with a focus on aesthetics as social justice, material culture- particularly fashion, boundaries of belonging and systems of value across economies at various scales.

Dr Siv Jansson has worked at a range of institutions in the UK and overseas, including eight years living and working in New Zealand and eight months living in Australia. She teaches on ‘Identity, Culture and Communication'.

Ksenija is a Lecturer and a Programme Director for MSc Design Innovation Program, leading on Design Research and Design in Organisations modules. Ksenija’s research interest is in exploring how service design can promote human development whilst engaging with evolving social and ecological challenges.

Dr Ruth Neubauer researches design practices and how design agency can be traced in the sociomaterial networks of practice. She is particularly interested in how design can be made accessible as design thinking for interdisciplinary use.

Sharon is a senior lecturer in design innovation and specialist in ecological and sustainability theory, environmental movements, and democratic innovation.

Thor is the Director of IDI’s Dissertation Programme and the Co-ordinator of the school’s Collaborative Project module involving all seven Institutes at Loughborough London University and around 1000 students.

Laura is a design scholar, activist and educator. She specialises in meaning innovation, sociocultural and human experience aspects of design.

Dr Pandora Syperek is Leverhulme Early Career Fellow at the Institute for Design Innovation and a Visiting Fellow at the V&A Research Institute. Her research examines the intersections of art and science, gender and the nonhuman within cultures of display. Pandora is module leader for Design & Identity and an dissertation supervisor.

Dr Ida Telalbasic is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) and Programme Director for the MSc Service Design Innovation programme. She specialises in service design innovation and strategy, as well as, exploring the value of design-driven entrepreneurship.
