My journey to Loughborough University London

Please tell us about your path to Loughborough University London. Where did you study before and what subjects did you take? Did your previous learning experiences influence your decision to study further?

After graduating with a Bachelor of business administration, I worked as a Journalist and Producer for 5 years. During my career journey, I realised that understanding economics and finance was problematic for some people. Those extensive experiences reinforced my goal to build my digital media business, focusing on economics and finance content in 2019. However, first, I must enlarge my digital media and technology knowledge to create a sustainable start-up and stand out in the social network. Loughborough University London offers a range of opportunities to develop my media and digital technology expertise. Pursuing a master's degree at Loughborough University London will allow me to make more valuable connections, gain professional skills, give me an in-depth understanding of my speciality and foster personal development. As a result, I will become a better problem solver and more efficiently tackle complex projects, particularly to develop my start-up business.

Why did you decide to study at Loughborough University London? Also, what inspired you to apply for the course that you chose?

Loughborough University London offers me many opportunities and career support to keep the balance between theoretical and practical knowledge. One of the most exciting parts is the 3 block teaching module system; it allows me to focus on one module in a month and learn the module comprehensively without feeling overwhelmed. I decided to study MSc in digital Creative Media to enlarge my expertise in digital technologies. Through its core module, I could enhance my skills in audio-visual conferencing, streaming & broadcast applications, and synchronisation requirements. The course also provides appealing option modules to identify the importance of innovative changes in digital media and creative industries, analyse the shift in digital media consumption behaviours, and explore emerging IoT platforms.

My Loughborough University London Experience

How has the teaching in your institution at Loughborough University London helped further your knowledge of your subject?

Every lecture gives me a new concept to drive my knowledge in digital media, technology, and the creative industry; it encourages me to learn some theories by delving into my perspective through some study case exploration. The teaching method, presentation, and discussion during the class enable me to connect the dots on the importance of utilising new technology in the media industry.

What interesting things are you learning?  Is there a particularly good project/ work that you participated in?

I’m always curious about AI and the metaverse; here, Loughborough University London provides me with some knowledge about those elements. In another module, I learnt how to produce my podcast! Sounds exciting, right? I interviewed people, connected my resources with the module, and transferred it to my own podcast. The assignment empowered me to go beyond and think out of the box to transform what I learnt from the module into appealing work. Moreover, I joined the Student Ambassadors team, which helped me to network and get involved in some exciting events while assisting other students in getting to know the university.

Please tell us about any support that you received from your institute staff

I could figure out how to advertise myself with my experiences inside and outside the university. She gave me some advice to support my dreams and listen to my challenge, and she was just like a friend who could help me to reach my goals.
