Pinkal studied Cyber Security and Big Data MSc and received the Academic Excellence scholarship.

Pinkal chose to study at Loughborough University London due to our renowned Student Experience and her passion for Cyber Security.

What were you doing before you started your master’s?

I was working as a Business Intelligence/Objects Developer.

Why did you choose Loughborough University London?

I chose Loughborough University London due to its renowned student experience and its rankings in national league tables.

What’s your favourite thing about Loughborough University London?

The London Student Service team were always there throughout my journey and I got all the help I needed.

What helped you choose Loughborough?

Alongside the programme and the location, the scholarship awarded to me by the University was the ‘cherry on the cake’ to select Loughborough University London.

Why did you decide to study your course?

I had a huge interest in Cyber Security so I knew I wanted to engage in further study related to this. My engineering background also helped me know this programme was suitable to me.

What did you enjoy the most about your course?

The most enjoyable part of my course was that there was always something new to learn. Things never remain the same and there is always something new coming up in the market every day. It was also very challenging which I enjoyed.

Describe what it is like to be a postgraduate student and how this differs from being an undergraduate.

In my undergraduate study (BE in Electronics and Telecommunication) I learnt about the basics of my whole course. However, the master’s is a focus on the subjects of my interests in depth. I have therefore learnt the advanced level of what I had learnt in my bachelors.

Where do you see your career in 5 years’ time?

I hope to see myself as a certified CISSP professional and working as a Penetration Tester or multiple major fields of Cyber Security.

How did you like to spend your time away from your studies?

I liked to spend my time reading about new technologies and new technological innovations in the market. As well as this, I liked to explore cities and travel to new places.
