Institute for Sport Business academics publish new book
Three of our academics within the Institute for Sport Business have published a new book, entitled ‘Fostering Innovative Cultures in Sport’.
The book has been written in collaboration by three of our Institute for Sport Business academics:
- Director of the Institute of Sport Business, Professor James Skinner
- Professor of Sport Business, Aaron Smith
- Programme Director of Sport Business and Leadership MSc, Dr Steve Swanson
The book analyses the trends that are emerging in sport enterprises such as advancements in technology and social media, tackling the issue of how to create new opportunities in such a changing industry. Special emphasis is placed on the role of leaders in sport organisations in driving innovation.
Providing valuable reading for sports business scholars, this book draws on examples from inventive companies as well as inspirational sports leaders and illustrates the various drivers behind innovation. Addressing the need for a culture of innovation within sports enterprises, the text reveals sustainable ways for companies to stay ahead of the game in an increasingly competitive global sport market.
The title is published by Palgrave Macmillan and will be released on 15 July 2018.
