Entrepreneurial behaviour is increasingly valued by employers. This programme will provide you with a robust understanding of the innovation process and give you the opportunity to explore and reflect on what it takes to achieve, sustain, and grow a business. You will also be equipped with key practical skills and competencies and will have the opportunity to apply them to your own start-up project.
Delivered in partnership with the IÉSEG School of Management in Paris, this dual-delivery programme goes beyond traditional business education by providing a deep knowledge of what it means to be entrepreneurial and innovative, both as an individual and as an organisation.
You will have the opportunity to study in two of Europe's most iconic cities and immerse yourself in the vibrant entrepreneurial scenes of London and Paris. During one semester, you’ll be taught at IÉSEG's Paris campus in the La Défense business district, and during the other semester, you'll be at Loughborough University London's postgraduate campus, nestled within Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, at the heart of London's creative and startup hub.

New Venture Creation
The aims of this module are to equip students with background knowledge of business planning and strategy execution with simulated experience of running a company.
We will look at a variety of frameworks for assessing entrepreneurs, products, markets, industries and operations to understand (1) the importance of thorough market/product analysis and (2) the operation of a new venture and the dynamic nature of strategy.
Conceptual foundations are matched with practical training to enable students to formulate and execute their business strategies.
Managing Sustainability
The aim of this module is to develop students understanding of sustainability, and map out the relationship between sustainability and global business. The world is going through a variety of environmental and social crises, most notably the climate crises, and in the module the focus is on the different ways in which global business contributes to these crises (and can contribute to the solutions for these crises), as well as what sorts of consequences these crises have or may have on global business. Various theoretical approaches will be utilized throughout the module, and the students will engage in practical applications of these theories and concepts.

Family Businesses
The aims of this module are to:
- introduce the topic of family business
- examine the role that family businesses play in economies
- consider the different ownership and governance structures of family firms
- explore the drivers and processes that are unique to family firms
- develop an understanding of the strengths and inherent weaknesses of this type of firm, and the impact this can have on business strategy, and on outcomes such as entrepreneurial activity and sustainability.
Intellectual property
The aims of this module are to equip students with a knowledge of the various types of intellectual property, searching intellectual property databases, the legal basis of intellectual property rights, the application process for obtaining intellectual property and its importance to the innovation process and the entrepreneur.
Corporate Finance
The aims of this module are to equip students with a working knowledge of the accounting and commercial skills required both to monitor and evaluate company performance, and to understand the financial consequences of business decisions, particularly for relatively small and young firms; be able to critically assess alternatives.

Digital Technologies for Market Analysis
The aims of this module are to familiarise students to the importance and practices of market research and analysis and equip them with skills to design, perform and present effective and creative market research projects powered by modern digital technologies.
Foundations in Digital Finance
The aim of this module is to equip students with skills and knowledge to enable them to understand the digital financial industry.
This module aims to teach students about digital transformations in finance, including financial technology (fintech), financial services, crowdfunding, and peer-to-peer lending.
Throughout the module, the module leader(s) will use state of art case study illustrations and advances in digital finance research, as well as expose practices from leading digital financial services and companies.
Compulsory module
Students can choose between an internship-based dissertation where the internship is more than four months, or a traditional dissertation, and/or a project based route.
Dissertation
The aim of this module is to give students the opportunity to identify, design and conduct research on a topic relevant to their academic development and degree programme. The outcome of the research will be a written Dissertation.
Students can select one of the following two options for conducting the research for their Dissertation:
- A desk-based research project on a topic agreed with their supervisor that involves secondary data analysis or the collection and analysis of primary data.
- A project based on research conducted in collaboration with a Loughborough University partner organisation, which may involve the collection and analysis of primary data from this organisation, laboratory experiments and/or fieldwork.
Students will achieve a high level of understanding in the subject area and produce a written thesis which will discuss their research in depth and with academic rigour.
Dissertation (Internship)
The aim of this module is to give students the opportunity to work with an organisation on an internship basis to identify, design and conduct a research project on a topic relevant to their professional development and degree programme. The dissertation will be based on research conducted within a partner organisations premises while completing additional operational internship activities (subject to a suitable internship position being obtained). The research project will be agreed by both the partner organisation and the Dissertation supervisors. The student will complete the project and produce a written dissertation as part of the internship.
Students will achieve a high level of understanding of the topic in the context of a real-world professional setting. They will be expected to apply their academic knowledge and understanding to the design and implementation of the project. In addition to developing their knowledge and understanding of the topic students will develop a range of practical and transferable skills.
