Loughborough University London and IÉSEG launch MSc in Entrepreneurship and Innovation for 2021 entry

Loughborough University London are pleased to announce they are joining forces with IÉSEG School of Management to launch a new joint master’s degree programme that will welcome it’s first cohort of students in September 2021.

The MSc in Entrepreneurship and Innovation programme aims to develop students' ability to critically understand and reflect on the importance of an entrepreneurial mindset in individuals and organizations. They will learn to evaluate the different factors affecting the success of new ventures and drivers of the innovation process.

The programme’s Academic Directors, Dr Louise Scholes of Loughborough University and Dr Tiago Ratinho of IÉSEG, note that this will be "a unique joint master’s degree programme immersed in an enriching multicultural experience, allowing students to develop the critical skills to drive change in existing companies or to develop their own startup."

During the first semester, students will follow modules at IÉSEG (Paris La Défense campus), before taking the second semester in the UK at Loughborough University London. In this way, students will benefit from the expertise of both institutions and from the infrastructures in two dynamic and entrepreneur-friendly European capital cities.

The programme uses action-based learning aimed at offering insights into the complexity of the entrepreneurial and innovation process. Students will gain experience with the unique qualities of the entrepreneurial decision-making process, as well as the skills of advanced networking and team working in order to compete in a rapidly changing business environment.

Modules will cover a range of topics, such as technology entrepreneurship, creative business modelling, design thinking, entrepreneurial funding, and innovation management. Students will also need to complete a group-based entrepreneurial project, supported by appropriate supervision and in collaboration with IÉSEG’s incubator.

Following the two semesters of modules, all students will complete a dissertation module which may include a capstone project in the form of a 4-6 month internship or work experience, a thesis, or an entrepreneurial project under IÉSEG-Loughborough joint supervision.
