Loughborough remains fifth best university in the UK in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2020

Loughborough University has maintained its top five ranking for a second successive year in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2020.

The guide ranks universities on nine indicators – teaching quality, student satisfaction, research quality, graduate prospects, entrance qualifications held by new students, degree results achieved, student/staff ratios, service and facilities spend, and degree completion rates.

In the 2020 guide Loughborough is ranked fifth out of 134 universities, has improved in five of the nine measures and comes third in the UK for student experience. This success follows on from Loughborough being named The Times and Sunday Times University of the Year for a second time in the 2019 guide.

Speaking about its latest ranking, Vice-Chancellor Professor Robert Allison said: “Yet again this league table demonstrates that Loughborough is truly one of the country’s best universities. But this doesn’t happen by chance. The Loughborough family is incredible, working tirelessly to ensure that every student, both here at the Loughborough campus and at our campus in London, gets the very best out of their university years.

“I would like to thank everyone for their hard work and commitment and congratulate them on being part of a hugely successful top five UK university.”
