Loughborough University London launches ‘London Venture Crawl’
Join our London Venture Crawl 2018, exploring the City's entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Loughborough University London is proud to be at the heart of creativity and enterprise. London is the unrivalled start-up capital of Europe, home to the third biggest group of $1bn valuation start-up companies and a playground for new ideas and opportunities.1
To celebrate London's entrepreneurial talent, we have hired a double-decker bus to take our students on a tour of the Capital's creative hubs, alongside nine other Universities. On Wednesday 14th March (10am-9pm), we will spend a day travelling across the City, visiting co-worker and maker spaces, incubators and accelerators to connect our entrepreneurial students to the eco-system across London.
This will include tours of:
There are places for fourty-five students from across all disciplines, and undergraduates and postgraduates from both our Loughborough campus and London campus are welcome to apply. The event is also open to Loughborough University London alumni.
Whilst on the bus, students will be visited by leaders from across a range of industries, including investors, makers, and entrepreneurs from some of the most innovative start-up companies in London. Students will have an opportunity to take part in a pitching workshop and start-up quiz.
The bus will finish its tour at one of Europe’s largest Innovation spaces; Plexal. Students will hear from inspiring entrepreneurs, including Loughborough University alumnus, Laurence Kemball-Cook, inventor of Pavegen. Local food and drink will be served and students will be encouraged to share their ideas, connect and talk to other entrepreneurial students.
The Loughborough University London Venture Crawl (Venture Crawl 2018) is part of an ongoing programme of entrepreneurial activities run by Loughborough University London to support enterprising students from across both campuses.
Ben Cole, Loughborough University London’s Stakeholder Development Manager said 'Having a coherent idea is just the start to developing a new business. Knowing where support is available, how to access it, meet mentors and gain investment is just as important. #VentureCrawl2018 gives our students an unrivalled opportunity to connect with the entrepreneurial eco-system in London'.
