Loughborough leaps to 7th in The Complete University Guide 2017

Loughborough University has leapt to its highest ever ranking of 7th place in The UK Complete University Guide 2017 – the fastest riser in the top 20.

The league table is based on ten measures: student satisfaction, research quality, research intensity, entry standards, student to staff ratio, spending on academic services, spending on student facilities, good honours degrees achieved, graduate prospects and completion. It includes 127 institutions.

This is the first time Loughborough has entered the top ten of the guide, passing the universities of Warwick, Lancaster, Surrey and Exeter.

Speaking about the 2017 guide Professor Robert Allison, Loughborough’s Vice Chancellor said:

"This is an amazing achievement for our entire Loughborough University community and is yet further evidence that Loughborough is one of the best universities in the country.

"Already this year we have won the Times Higher Student Experience of the Year Award and two Whatuni Student Choice Awards. To then secure 7th in the Complete University Guide shows what an incredible environment we have created here at Loughborough, and one we are all rightfully proud of.

"Rankings always fluctuate and universities go up and down, but Loughborough’s long-term trajectory is firmly upwards."
