An open mic night showcasing the best student talent from our London campus.
If you enjoy live music and discovering new artists then join us for a special, laid back evening as we present the best talent from Loughborough University London.
Postgraduate student and event organiser Alessandro Grasso is your host for the night. He's a regular on the London open mic scene with experience working in the music industry too. Alessandro is planning a mixed line-up of singers and musicians from a wide range of genres interspersed with performances from other art forms.
This is the first event of its kind for our London campus so come along and support our students and experience something special.
Anyone is welcome to attend (18+) but performances are limited to Loughborough University students.
Grow Hackney offers a 10% student discount on food so make a night of it! Check out the food menu in advance.
Accessibility
The ground floor inside space and main stage at Grow Hackney are on level ground and are wheelchair accessible. Part of the bar counter is also lowered and there is an accessible toilet. Access to the canalside and mezzanine is via steps and, unfortunately, there is no ramp or lift access to these areas. If you have any specific access needs then please let us know via the booking form or email us via luarts@lboro.ac.uk.
Open mic opportunity
Any Loughborough University London student can perform at this event but you need to book a slot in advance. We’re looking for music from a wide range of genres to reflect the diversity of the musicians at Loughborough London. There’ll be a PA, microphones, electric piano, monitors and sound engineer so you just need to bring your instrument. If you’re a singer then you can be accompanied on guitar or bring your own backing track.
