Xiaolan Liu
Lecturer

Xiaolan is an expert in engineering and design, having completed her studies in both China and London.
Xiaolan received a B.Eng and M.Eng at Jilin University from China in 2014 and 2017, respectively, and her PhD degree at Queen Mary University of London in 2021.
While at Queen Mary University of London she also worked as a research assistant for 4 months on the design of intelligent computation offloading strategies for IoT edge computing networks. Then she worked as a Research Associate in the Centre for Telecommunications Research at King's College London from 2020-2021.
Academic background
Her research interests are including edge computing, IoT networks, distributed learning, reinforcement learning and multiagent reinforcement learning, as well as intelligent wireless communication optimization. She has the experience of working for a project Innovate UK, RCUK & MoST Newton Fund: LiveQuest, IoT System for Precision Livestock Agriculture, and an EU H2020 project: Primo5G, Virtual presence in moving objects, e.g., drones, through 5G.
