Federico was a Design Innovation Management MSc student from Uruguay.
Prior to studying a master's programme at Loughborough University London, Federico was working as a design consultant for tech start-ups.
Why did you choose to study at Loughborough?
I had a previous postgraduate diploma in technology management which was the intermediate degree for the Master of Innovation Management at the Engineering School in my university. However, I was looking at complementing that education with a design perspective. So, I looked at programmes bringing together innovation management and design. Loughborough University London's MSc Design Innovation Management was the best suiting master's programme I found, plus it was delivered in Loughborough University's new London campus!
How did you fund your studies?
What did you enjoy the most about your programme?
One of the things I enjoyed most about my course is that it is an interdisciplinary programme delivered by different institutes within the University. There is also the possibility of working with companies as part of your studies, too.
Describe a day in the life of a postgraduate student.
My day would usually be made up of full-time studying from Monday to Friday. In the evenings, I liked to go the gym or meet up with friends. These were always nice ways of finishing up a day of study!
How do you like to spend your time away from your studies?
I would spend my time away from studying getting to know London and the UK. During my Masters, I made sure to work hard during the week so that I could enjoy the weekends as much as possible. Typically, that would involve visiting markets, trying out new food, and visiting museums and galleries!
If you could give one piece of advice to a postgraduate student, what would it be?
Make sure you enjoy your studies! Take the chance to meet new people and engage in as many diverse activities as you can - you won't regret it!
