How to offer a micro-internship

Seize this exceptional opportunity to collaborate with motivated and talented postgraduate students, as well as to foster long-lasting connections with Loughborough University London's Future Space initiative. Together, we can drive innovation, enhance business practices, and create a mutually beneficial partnership.

How does this work?

At Future Space, we strive to ensure a seamless and efficient process, connecting your business with talented students who are eager to contribute their skills and expertise. Through this structured working process, we aim to create successful collaborations that yield impactful results for both your business and the students involved.

Complete the application form

Start the process by completing our application form. In the application, please provide details about your business and specify the areas where you need assistance, along with any key objectives or work projects you have in mind. Please note that there is a limit to the number of projects we can support per semester.

Create a project brief

Once we receive your submission, our dedicated team will analyse the information provided and use it to create a draft project brief. This brief will outline the scope, objectives, and requirements of the project, ensuring that it aligns with your business needs.

Student applications and interviews

We will then open applications for our students, who will express their interest in your project through a short application form and a video interview. This allows them to showcase their skills, experience, and enthusiasm for the opportunity to work with your organisation.

Application review and shortlisting

Our team will review the applications received, and shortlist candidates based on their experience and the relevance of their skills to your project. We ensure that only the most suitable candidates move forward in the selection process.

Candidate review and communication

You will have the opportunity to review the shortlisted candidates and directly communicate with them to arrange informal interviews. This step allows you to gauge their compatibility with your business and project, ensuring a good fit for both parties.

Candidate selection and commencement

Finally, you can select the ideal candidate from the pool of applicants and get started with the micro-internship. Once the selection is made, our team will provide the necessary support to facilitate a smooth onboarding process, allowing you to kick-start the project and benefit from the student's contributions.

We are now starting to plan for our next round of micro-internships running from October 2026 to January 2027 (applications starting September 2026) and we welcome expressions of interest from external organisations.
