Over 100 Loughborough University London students were treated to a very special evening as its Future Space team hosted its first Careers Insight Event of 2023-24.

Nearly 30 partners and alumni came to share their hints and tips on careers, professional development and personal fulfilment.

The evening was kicked off by urban futurist Rachel Edwards as she shared her views on the workplace of the future. Four alumni panels followed featuring Loughborough University London graduates now working for Goldman Sachs, EY, Amazon and many more. The finale of the evening was a panel of nine employees from Talent+ partners all sharing how Loughborough University graduates could learn and develop by joining their companies at the end of their studies.

Tanvi Agarwal a MSc Entrepreneurship, Finance and Innovation graduate from 2017 now working in digital finance for NewDay said:

“As an international student I remember how important the Future Space team events were to my development. They not only introduced me to so many opportunities, but they really developed me as an individual helping me build my network and setting me up for my career.”‌

Professor Jo Tacchi Associate Dean for Education and Student Experience at Loughborough University London said:

“Our Future Space events are critical for our students to take the learning from the classroom out into the real world. The team really understands how to put on a fun impactful event that delivers great outcomes from our students.”

Jake George one of 2023-24’s latest crop of students added:

“I only started my course a month ago and I have already had so many great experiences thanks to the Future Space team. Being able to get up close and just chat with so many people who have either studied here or are offering employment or collaborative opportunities is just amazing. Tonight I spoke to folk from IMG, Sports Interactive and Ai.io. I now have real connections with UK sports companies. I am so excited about what is next.”

The next Careers Insight Event will take place on 7 March 2024.
