PhD research
Nell’s research titled ‘Promoting inclusive access, discoverability, and use of British Library digital learning resources for disadvantaged young people’, investigates how the British Library (BL) can address barriers to digital learning for disadvantaged young people, amidst the evolving landscape of cultural engagement through digital media prompted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The study aims to understand and mitigate challenges faced by marginalised young people to inform the development of resources that both engage disadvantaged youth and provide effective digital learning opportunities. This interdisciplinary thesis contributes to the broader goal of promoting equitable access to cultural and educational resources for all young people.
Nell’s thesis will culminate in the identification of tools and best practices for the provision of effective and inclusive online learning resources that help make positive contributions to the learning and social engagement of disadvantaged young people.
