Academic background
Having completed his PhD in Sport Business at Loughborough University London focusing on the legitimacy of the World Anti-Doping Agency, Dan has teaching experience in research methods, data analytics, sport integrity, and digital media as well as PhD supervision. He also possesses an MRes in Psychology and a BSc in Sports Science and Physiology.
Current research and collaborations
Dan has collaborated with and received funding from various private and public organisations across the sport sector including the World Anti-Doping Agency, FIFA, World Rugby, and the Professional Footballers’ Association. He is currently actively researching and open to collaboration in the following research areas:
- Athlete welfare (e.g., care-seeking behaviour, medicine [mis]use, education)
- Balancing commercial innovation and sporting tradition
- How the digital divide impacts access to sport and physical activity
- Sport governance in the 21st Century
