Now in its fourth year, Startup Higher’s Unconference brings together a learning community of enterprise educators from across the UK. As usual the Unconference saw attendees turn the tables on the way a conference works. Topics of discussion were suggested by the attendees with panels formed and feedback shared through a variety of means. The attendees discussed how we can better support student, graduate and staff entrepreneurs and how programmes in universities can be complemented by those offered by not for profits and in the private sector.
Attendees also discussed how entrepreneurship can be used as a key tool for solving some of the world's greatest challenges, such as Climate Change, Homelessness and Accessibility.
Teams from UCL, Kings and Imperial were joined by the Loughborough Enterprise Network and attendees from Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and various other UK universities. The Future Space team showcased some of the partnerships it holds that make the offer from Loughborough so special.
Dean for Loughborough University London Professor Aidan McGarry said:
Hosting this year's Startup Higher Unconference is just another signal of how we at Loughborough University seek to collaborate to make the world a better place. We were delighted we could help contribute and continue the discussion.
Startup Higher is a learning community for those who work in and around universities in the entrepreneurship field. It will soon be opening its annual competition to host its Unconference in 2026.
