The series brought together leading researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to explore the role of sport in building safer, more inclusive societies. It focused on sharing evidence-based practices, integrating sport into crime prevention strategies, and encouraging collaboration across sectors to reduce youth violence and crime.
Holly was the lead consultant and author of the SC:ORE policy guide. The policy guide aims to support and guide policymakers to establish multi-sector collaborations, enhance advocacy, strengthen capacity and increase institutional leadership at the regional, national and local levels and to increase knowledge and provide guidance on the integration of sport in the context of secondary and tertiary youth crime prevention.
This builds on Holly’s work who is known for her expertise in sport for development and peace, Holly shared insights from her recent research commissioned by the London Violence Reduction Unit. Her study examined how sport-based interventions targeting young children can help prevent future youth violence.
Key findings emphasised the value of trusted relationships with coaches, the importance of early childhood development through sport and play, and the effectiveness of hyper-local, community-led safe spaces.
Holly’s participation in the SC:ORE webinar highlighted the global relevance of her work and reinforced Loughborough University London’s leadership in the field of sport and social impact.
Holly will be launching her full research report at an upcoming event hosted at Loughborough University London on 11 June 2025.
