Induction week
We’ve organised a range of activities to help you settle in and get to know Loughborough University London. Induction Week will take place from Monday 21 September and attendance is compulsory for all new students.
Below you will be able to find more information about the events taking place. Some of the events are Institute-specific, these sessions will introduce you to the field of study and cover basic concepts you will need throughout your studies.
During this week you will also get the opportunity to network with other students, meet our Professional Services team and learn more about our facilities.
Please note that timings are subject to change and will be updated in your induction timetable, which will be available before your arrival on the MyLboro app.

Our student wellbeing welcome talk introduces the range of support available to help you thrive during your time at Loughborough University London. The session covers mental health support, disability and how to discuss reasonable adjustments. You will learn where to access help how to stay informed about wellbeing events and resources across our campus.

London Student Services talk
Join the London student services welcome talk to meet the team dedicated to supporting you throughout your university journey. This session will introduce the key services available to students and explain how we can help with academic and personal queries. Academic Learning and Language Support induction (ALSS)
Discover the academic learning and language support available to help you thrive at university. During this session you will find out how the Academic Learning and Language Support team can support you during your studies. From resources and workshops designed to strengthen your academic writing to referencing and English language proficiency, this team supports with a wide range of academic support.

Your Path (attendance required)
The Your Path Programme gives you clear, important information about consent, safety, reporting, and support – things every student should know. It helps all students understand what respectful behaviour looks like and how to recognise and respond to harmful situations.
This course is mandatory as part of national guidance from the Office for Students (OfS).
Please be aware that some of the topics in this programme may be sensitive or emotionally challenging, therefore please take care of yourself while engaging with this material. If you need support, University services are available including: the Student Wellbeing Service, studentwellbeing@lboro.ac.uk and the University Reporting Portal. This session encourages you to be curious and ask questions, helping you feel confident, informed, and included throughout your studies.

This session introduces you to the range of library resources and support available to help you succeed in your studies. You’ll discover how to access books, journals, and digital resources, as well as how to use key library services both on campus and online. This induction will help you make the most of the library throughout your time at Loughborough University London.

Student Life session
The Student Life session supports your transition to studying in the UK by providing essential information to help you settle into life in London. The session covers key practical topics such as opening a UK bank account, registering for healthcare with the NHS, understanding transport options, and getting to know your local area. The session is designed to help you feel confident and prepared as you begin your studies, ensuring you have the practical knowledge needed to settle in smoothly.

Freshers Fest and Here East tours
Freshers Fest is a vibrant event hosted in collaboration with the other university campuses based on Here East. Our sport welcome session is your opportunity to meet our sport student ambassadors and learn more about what sport and physical activity opportunities there are at Loughborough London and around the local area. Collaborate Sprint
The Collaborate Sprint is a great way to get to know your fellow students, develop team working skills and learn how to get things done. It also supports you to understand how to get the best out of group work and prepare you for the Collaborative Project, Global Challenges Modules and the Collaborative Dissertation.
