Postgraduate checklist
Prior to and upon your arrival, there are several important tasks that you need to complete. We have listed them here for you, along with links to useful information to help you get prepared.

Getting started
- International students should apply for your visa once you have received your CAS
- Celebrate your success and get involved on social media! #LboroFamily
- Contact the Student Wellbeing and Inclusivity (SWAI) team to discuss any further support you may need during your studies with us
- Share any health/disability related requirements for living or studying via the Disability and Health Portal
- Review your induction week activities before making your travel plans
6 weeks to go
4 weeks to go
- Register online with a local GP (UK students)
- Get to know your new home and get a taste of what it’s like to live in London
- Contact us for a personalised travel itinerary
- Make sure your accommodation is confirmed. For support you can contact the Student Accommodation Centre
- Book your in-person registration slot
- Familiarise yourself with London’s Induction page on Learn, our Virtual Learning Environment (you must complete online registration, and login via Single Sign On (SSO) using your Lboro username and password to access Learn
3 weeks to go
- Download your FREE student IT software, including Microsoft Office 365
- Get stuck into our student blogs and YouTube channel – preparation is key!
- Start preparing for your academic studies
- Plan your route on how to get to campus
- Make sure your online registration is complete, and you can access your student email account
2 weeks to go
- Download the myLboro app and sign in with your IT credentials to access your timetable, emails and more
- Follow Loughborough Students’ Union (LSU) on social media for Welcome Week announcements
- Familiarise yourself with the support available from IT Services
- Browse the student handbook for lots of helpful information
- Familiarise yourself with the induction schedule
1 week to go
- Look at the clubs and societies on offer, as well as LSU sections you might want to get involved with
- Explore what sports facilities there are at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park
- UK students only, check you have provided everything for the prompt release of your student loan
- Make sure you know what documents to bring with you
- Reminder to book your in-person registration slot
- Download the Here East Shuttle app to access the free bus service
Arrivals week
- Attend and complete your in-person registration and collect your ID card. You must upload a digital photo that meets our requirements to receive your ID card
- Attend your induction week activities and institute talks
- Access the Student Self-Service portal to request a Certificate of Registration letter, bank letter and council tax letter
- Register online with a GP (Doctor) when you arrive (international students)
- Register with a local dentist
