As Partnership Development Manager, Ben links academia and industry together for Loughborough University London.

For over 15 years, Ben has been supporting research, innovation & commercialization activities from the public and private sector.

Ben has 15 years experience in competitive collaborative public funding competitions, and has aquired over €250m in grant funding.

Ben links organisations with the strategic path of growth for both Loughborough University campuses.

He specialises in spinning together Universities and collaborative organisations working in consortia to deploy world leading research to answer the unknowns. Ben aids the transfer of knowledge from research in to innovation to create growth, and organises partnerships with collaborators to implement commercialisation.

Current research and collaborations

Since Loughborough University London opened in 2015, Ben has supported Loughborough in becoming one of the UK's leading universities in Connected & Autonomous automotive tech research and development. As Loughborough's automotive tech research expands further, we as a university we venture further in to the natural digital manufacturing cluster that is being progressed by UCL and Loughborough at Here East.

Loughborough University London is the collaborative host to the London UAV task force for unmanned commercial drones for London. The UAV task force is placed with defining the areas that need to be answered to ensure this disruptive form of transport is progressed.

Interests and activities

Ben is the co-founder to the London F1 GP, as well as innVelocity - a spin out that funds innovation demonstrators for commercialisation.

His main work interest is working within the Technology Readiness Level scale, typically universities work from levels 1-6. InnVelocity ensures technology development continues from levels 7-9 to market adoption.
