Pre-sessional students

The Academic Language Support Service offer high quality pre-sessional courses that that aim to equip students with the academic English and study skills required to cope with the demands of studying in a British university environment and to succeed on a Loughborough University degree programme.

The pre-sessional courses are primarily for international students who have an offer for a course at Loughborough University or Loughborough University London but who have not yet reached the required level of English. If you are unsure which course you can attend, check on the University’s English language requirements page for the most up-to-date information.

The University also strongly recommends that students who have met the English language requirements take the shorter Pre-sessional Courses (C - 11 weeks, D - 6 weeks and the Preparation for Academic Study Summer Course – 2 weeks) to help them prepare more fully for their studies.
