Why did you choose to study at Loughborough University London?
Loughborough University London offered the right combination of modules that I aspired to learn. After talking to alumni and current students, I got to know that Loughborough has a tight nit community and that the university lets students express their values and culture. The brand tag that comes along with studying at Loughborough was a big factor that encouraged me to apply to the University. I am happy that Loughborough has managed to fulfill my expectations and more.
What attracted you to your programme?
My undergraduate degree was in Architecture. Since the degree is very technically oriented and lacked business education, I wanted to acquire a new set of skills that would help me propel faster in this modern age. Further, I felt the creative thinking skills that I acquired from my undergraduate degree could be used in other fields where necessary.
What do you enjoy the most about your course/Loughborough University London?
The diversity in the students attending the course helps you learn different views and aspects of a topic. Professors and Lecturers of the course are very enthusiastic about what they teach, and they try to make the classes as interactive and engaging as possible. The block method of teaching also lets you fully immerse in a subject and understand it better.
How do you think studying a master's degree is helping you to reach your future career goals?
The course has helped me to acquire some practical & innovative business acumen required for excelling in a global company. The strategies and techniques taught in class would surely help me in a business or firm which delivers innovative, functional, and aesthetic solutions for problems and difficulties of people around the world.
How do you like to spend your time away from your studies?
I enjoy reading short daily articles. After work, I find time to play the guitar though I do not perform in front of a large crowd anymore. Trying to keep myself active is very important to me so I try to work out in the morning. I keep myself updated by trying to learn new software, skills, and analyse new design projects. Socializing and meeting new people is also very important to me and I try to do so whenever it's possible.
Do you have any advice for students moving to London?
During this current pandemic situation, it takes courage and risk to travel. I had apprehensions as well but decided to take a chance and attend the university this year. I can confidently say that I have made the right choice by coming to London. The university has in place a lot of measures to prevent the spread of COVID, which is very reassuring. Furthermore, everyone in the city is careful and tries to maintain social distancing which also reduces anxiety. Talking to a lot of people and meeting new ones always help you feel comfortable and at home. I would say taking the time to explore the city alone can also be confidence-boosting.
