Why did you choose to study at Loughborough University London?

Choosing Loughborough University London was a well-thought process. I made an Excel sheet where I compared and contrasted different programmes against my own criteria. I was looking for a prestigious institution that was well aware of the needs of the market. Hence, I required a good balance of both theory and practice. Other important factors included the location and the programme. After spending several weeks researching, Loughborough University London stood out from the rest - it definitely ticked all the boxes!

What attracted you to the programme?

Since I have had previous work experience in both Media and Creative Industries, I felt it was important to look for a programme that combined both of these. The Media and Creative Industries MA programme showed a great understanding of how both areas converged. As well as this, the Collaborative Project seemed like an excellent opportunity to work with an organisation and apply your knowledge.

Location for this programme is also pivotal. What better place to study media and creative industries than London? With access to a great array of channels, newspapers, museums and venues, this is a great city for anyone interested in media and culture.

Yet the most important bits of information are given before arrival. Also, don't hesitate in asking the staff anything because they are more than willing to help!

List three ways that studying a master's degree is helping you to reach your future career goals.

This programme is definitely helping me systematise my knowledge. I am finally putting names to the different experiences I've had throughout my professional career.

As well as this, my love for studying and doing a master's degree definitely helped me figure out that I wish to continue my studies and pursue a career in academia.

Finally, I feel this master's degree has given me useful tools than I can apply to projects back home. The insights I've received here have definitely strengthened my views and will definitely be very useful when returning home.

Do you have any advice for students moving to London?

Take your time settling in. Even if you arrive late (as it was in my case), take all the time you need to buy everything and make yourself comfortable. As an international student, it was very important for me to make myself feel at home and be as comfortable as possible.
