Rebeka joins us from Slovakia and studies MSc Sport Business and Innovation.

Why did you choose to study at Loughborough University London?

I chose Loughborough University London mainly because of the course. During my final year of my undergraduate studies, I did some research to find out about postgraduate degree programmes. Firstly, I wanted to connect my passion for sport with business-related studies, and the course Loughborough University London offers perfectly matches this intention of mine.

Secondly, I intended to move to a bigger city in the UK. And because postgraduate courses are located in London it was a perfect match for me and I knew that it is something I would love to do.

What attracted you to the programme?

A wide range of interesting modules, opportunities to interact and work with companies from the real business world, and most of all the possibility to connect my passion for sport with business studies.

List at least one thing you wish you knew about Loughborough University London before arriving on campus.

That the course is going to be really intense from Day 1 of the first Semester. You just have to jump to that wagon straight away.

It’s a great way how to gain new and improve current skills inevitable for your future career and job applications.

Do you have any advice for students moving to London?

It’s not as scary as it seems to be. But definitely get your accommodation sorted before term starts.

Do you take part in any extra-curricular activities on campus or in the local area?

Yes I am a fitness competitor so I spend a lot of my time in the gym. There are amazing opportunities in terms of sport in London, and I am sure everyone is able to find a great gym in their local area.

Where are the best places to explore on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park?

Honestly, just strolling around Olympic Park is awesome. You instantly get that feeling of the Olympic Games if you are able to use a little bit of your imagination. It’s a great way to relax and turn off your brain for a while. And there is a truck with an amazing coffee in Here East!

Do you have any advice to prepare students for the transition from undergraduate to postgraduate study?

It’s going to be more intense than your undergraduate course, for sure. Also, I believe that the most important thing is to choose the course you will enjoy; otherwise it’s going to be hard. Don’t just think about what your relatives and friends suggest to you and what you think is “the right thing to do”. That is what I did at the beginning and then I realised it was not precisely what I truly wanted. So do your research, find what suits you the best and have fun!

What support is available at Loughborough University London?

In terms of support, Loughborough University London is great. There is everything you need, a huge amount of resources and people who are really willing to help you with anything. Every single time I had some issue I knew that they would help me to get it solved really quickly. The staff here at Loughborough University London are simply the best!
