Why Loughborough University London?

During my undergraduate studies at the (WU) Vienna University of Economics and Business I specialized in Finance and the management of small and medium enterprises. For my masters I decided to deepen these topics with a focus on entrepreneurship. Loughborough University London is the only university which provides the combination of Finance and Entrepreneurship and was therefore my #1 choice. In addition, London is a very attractive place to study, especially for students who strive for a career in the start-up industry.

What have you most enjoyed about your programme so far?

First of all, the teaching content and quality is outstanding due to well-recognized academics teaching this programme. I especially enjoyed the Innovation Management module, which discussed the creation of innovation and how companies utilize it to gain competitive advantage. Moreover, since my first day at Loughborough University London I have met many interesting students from all over the world to share ideas with, which made the experience in the first weeks very unique.

What attracted you to the programme?

The combination of Entrepreneurship, Finance and Innovation is exceptional. This especially attracted me to the Loughborough University London campus. On my search for an appropriate programme which covers all relevant topics to start a company or to work in an innovative industry, this programme stands out.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

In 5 years I will have set up my own company. One of my biggest ambitions is to be self-employed and to directly contribute to changes in society. I am sure that my year at Loughborough University London will strongly contribute to achieving that goal.

What advice would you give to prospective students looking to study at Loughborough University London?

Definitely apply for a scholarship, which will be listed on the Loughborough University London website. Even if you think you might not get it, it is surely worth a try.

List at least one thing you wish you knew before arriving on campus

How would you describe Enterprise Through the Curriculum?

Enterprise Through the Curriculum is a programme that runs parallel to your academic studies. It consists of a number of events, workshops and opportunities to enhance your employability profile for your future career.

Give 3 reasons how Enterprise Through the Curriculum will benefit your future career

The assessment center is one part of the Enterprise Through the Curriculum programme that simulates a job interview scenario; which is very useful to experience a job interview situation beforehand, and learn where you can improve. Another possible opportunity is to enhance your skillset by applying for the (payed) student ambassador job or by becoming a programme representative. These roles foster your abilities in a lot of different ways, such as organizing, meeting skills, teamwork, time management or decision making.
