It's a casual worker role and not a 9-5 so I take on roles depending on how my schedule looks. Finding a reasonable balance and knowing what is priority for a particular week made it easier for me.
What were your expectations from this role before you became an ambassador?
I didn't really have any expectations, I just knew that it was a great opportunity to help students and represent the university.
What kind of roles and events were you involved with as a student ambassador?
I was involved in a tour unfortunately due to other commitments I was not able to take on alot of roles. Next month I aim to take on more roles.
What was the best thing about being a student ambassador?
Helping students in their academic walk. A masters degree is nothing like an undergraduate degree, therefore the work load and assignments are different. So talking to students and explaining the differences and similarities. Especially about the course I chose and what they can expect.
How do you think this role has helped you?
Communication skills in general I believe has improved.
Describe what it is like to be a student ambassador in one word
Interesting.
How did you find balancing your role with other commitments such as your studies and social life?
What attracted me to this role is the flexibility. It's a casual worker role and not a 9-5 so I take on roles depending on how my schedule looks. Finding a reasonable balance and knowing what is priority for a particular week made it easier for me.
