Why did you choose to study at Loughborough University London?

I chose to study at Loughborough University London for the interdisciplinary approach to learning, as well as their commitments to progress. I hold the same values of hard work, integrity, and innovation, which I experience every time I attend a lecture or event held by the University. I also chose to study here for the support and guidance provided from the careers department.

What attracted you to the programme?

My programme is the perfect blend of what I wanted to continue studying from my undergraduate Law degree, and what I was interested in studying in order to excel in a career in the field. I really appreciate how my MSc is focused on practical, as well as academic. My course teaches me how to think about national and international developments, not just what to think.

List at least one thing you wish you knew about Loughborough University London before arriving on campus.

One thing I wish I knew before arriving on campus was how open the University can be when it comes to thinking about entrepreneurship and developing business ideas. I simply assumed that because I wasn't studying a degree which was business related, such events were not targeted at me. However, this isn't the case and I do wish I got myself involved much earlier on.

List three ways that studying a master's degree is helping you to reach your future career goals.

My MSc is helping me understand, in detail and from multiple international perspectives, the ways in which politics, law, and social phenomena impact each other, which is crucial to a career in diplomacy. Secondly, my MSc is helping me to refine how I work with others and truly understand what it means to collaborate. Thirdly, my time so far on my course has focused on navigating the careers world as well as the fundamentals of the career I am looking for.

Do you have any advice for students moving to London?

It's a big city, so think and dream big. Attend absolutely any event which sparks your interest on Eventbrite, and get a student Oyster card!

Do you take part in any extra-curricular activities on campus, on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park or in the local area?

I attend as many events the University holds outside lecture times I can, it's great fun and quite interesting. I am also the course representative for Security, Peace-building, and Diplomacy.
