Stacey studies our Sport Marketing MSc and is from South Africa.

Stacey chose to study at Loughborough University London due to our reputation for sports-related subjects.

What were you doing before you started your master's?

I studied my undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics and Accounting. Subsequently I worked in Corporate Finance for three years; however this was not what I was passionate about. I then decided to go travelling for a year in North and Central America, and while travelling I discovered the course at Loughborough University London.

What do you enjoy the most about your course?

I have really enjoyed the exposure to the Sports industry! I have been lucky enough to have many guest lecturers from all over the world who have first hand experience and this has been invaluable. I have also had the opportunity to attend conferences and volunteer at events around London, where I have been able to network and meet people from the industry. Assignments have often been in partnership with Industry, which has allowed me to work on real life projects and issues.

Describe a day in the life of a postgraduate student on your course

No two days are the same! Your schedule is often changing and you will have periods when you have a lot of assignments due. Typically, you would have a lecture in the morning, lunch and then a lecture in the afternoon. Breaks are often filled with team meetings.

How do you like to spend your time away from your studies?

I enjoy spending time with my friends, exploring London and exercising!

If you could give one piece of advice to a postgraduate student, what would it be?

Loughborough has so many connections with people in industry and offers students so many ways to get involved, and so I would just encourage any postgraduate student to get involved in any and everything that there is on offer.
