Collaborate Sprint is a space for attendees to develop themselves, build new connections and contribute their ideas to a real project brief, and this year’s programme was no different. As part of the three-day residential, Loughborough undergraduates and prospective students worked in teams to research, develop, and refine ideas ending in a final pitch to a panel of expert judges from the GDI Hub and Our Parklife CIC. Alongside the challenge, participants explored the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and the Here East innovation ecosystem, while also getting to know our London campus and connecting with our current students.
“The Collaborate Sprint is a perfect opportunity to tackle a real-life challenge, meet new people and build your skills. I’d highly recommend it,” shared one student. Reflecting on the experience, Amy Pyle, Learning Partnerships Manager at Loughborough University London, said:
It was a real privilege to work with Sprint 2025 attendees, who took up this opportunity to spend two days working in teams, contributing their ideas and developing their own skills and knowledge. It was fantastic to see them working at pace, building their networks and stretching themselves to meet the challenge. Teams brought a brilliant energy to the two days, with new skills and learning that will positively contribute to their future studies and careers.
Another student added, “The project brief really got me to think outside the box and work with new people. I also learnt how to not let tight deadlines hold me back from achieving the goal, it was a great experience.”
