This 60-minute long workshop will cover the types of funding that new business owners can consider tapping into when looking to kick-start their business.

The focus of this workshop is on start-ups looking to explore the options available to them when raising money for their business and getting their ideas off the ground. It will also give a very brief insight into the world of investment and how to become investor-ready.

The session will be delivered by Dr. Salman Malik (aka Sal), the Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Loughborough University London. Sal is an ex-scientist, an advisory board member and multi-award winning entrepreneur.

Following his PhD at University College London (UCL), he solely founded a biotech startup and successfully raised funding to work on the research and development of a process used to cost-effectively develop microparticles (i.e. drug delivery carriers). He was also awarded a prestigious Enterprise Fellowship from The Royal Society of Edinburgh (RSE) which allowed him to transition as an academic scientist into an entrepreneur and CEO. He has run two businesses in two very different sectors but has experience of taking ideas and commercialising them quickly into revenue-generating businesses. Sal is an Advisory Board Member at UCL, an Associate Academic at London South Bank University (LSBU) and a Fellow of The RSA (Royal Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce).

The Loughborough Enterprise Network (LEN) London invite you to attend this exciting workshop, also providing opportunities to network with your peers in Loughborough University London.
