Design, Create, Hack 2020
In this two-day hack, explore how you can make London a better place to live, work and visit with the focus being cleaner and greener focusing on the environment, smart cities, creative industries and health.
Loughborough University London is teaming up with London College of Fashion, University College London, Birkbeck, University of East London, London South Bank University and our international friends at Washington Univerity St Louis, to invite a select number of students to help solve this challenge.
This is an exciting two-day fast-paced hackathon helping you to develop entrepreneurial skills and also your chance to develop a new business idea which can be entered into the London Mayors Entrepreneurship Competition - if you enter its a chance to win a prize of £20,000 for your innovative ideas!
How will the design, create, hack work?
This hackathon will offer students and recent alumni the opportunity to come together to learn, create, test, prototype and present their ideas to do something amazing and tackle some of the big challenges facing London.
We're looking for creative people with a passion to learn and share their knowledge and skills. Teams will be formed at the start of the hack on the 24 January and get to work on creating capital city changing ideas. Teams will then present these back to a panel of expert judges for the chance to win on the 25 of January 2020. Throughout the event there will be workshops, mentors and industry experts on site to help guide you to solve this challenge posed by the Mayor of London.
Teams will compete to win cash prizes:
- 1st place = £2,000 split equally per team member
- 2nd place = £50 each
Who can take part?
You must be a Loughborough University London student or alumni (graduated within 2 years) and able to attend both days to take part in the hack, and there are a limited number of places available (15 total) for Loughborough University London students/alumni.
Deadline to apply: 20 January 2020. Those who have received a place will be notified on 21 January 2020.
