Why I chose Loughborough University London

A few key things influenced my decision to study at Loughborough University London. The location was a big one being in London really worked well for me in terms of convenience and opportunities. I was also really interested in the subject area, particularly the international and global focus of the program, which aligned well with what I want to explore further. On top of that, the scholarships and funding support available made it a more realistic and appealing option for me.

My overall academic experience

Overall, I’d say my academic experience was an enjoyable one for several reasons. First, I found the teaching style to be very engaging lecturers were interactive, and many sessions involved hands-on exercises, which was a refreshing change from the typical “slides and note-taking” approach. I also appreciated the flexibility of the program, especially being able to choose optional modules outside the core ones. It allowed me to focus on areas I was genuinely interested in.

One of the highlights for me was the collaborative project. Working on a real-world problem as part of a team was something new, and it really helped me develop important soft skills like communication, planning, and meeting deadlines. Lastly, I really enjoyed working with my lecturers. What made it even better was that with some of them, I was able to build genuine connections and we’re still in touch even now.

Aspects of my course that I found useful

One aspect of the course I found particularly useful was the breadth of the modules. This was especially valuable for me because I didn’t come from a background in international management, so it was interesting to learn about how corporate governance and management styles vary across different parts of the world. On top of that, the fact that most of the students were international added another layer of insight hearing real-life perspectives from classmates who were from those regions made the learning experience even more engaging and relevant.

Academic and careers support

From what I remember, the academic and careers support was helpful, especially when it came to things like preparing for job applications and getting ahead of the curve. They provided support with CVs, interview preparation, and even gave advice on where to apply, which was useful. I can’t go into too much detail as it’s been a while and I don’t remember everything, but overall, I found the guidance helpful during my time on the course.

Highlights of my time at Loughborough London outside of my course

My time at Loughborough outside of the course was the friendships I made. I met some great people during my time there, and I’m still in touch with a few of them today. It was really nice to connect with others from different backgrounds, and those relationships made the overall experience more memorable and enjoyable.

Campus facilities and resources

I really liked the campus facilities they had a modern style, and everything was very accessible, which made it easy to get what I needed. The resources were also helpful, and the university provided a lot of support, especially when I was working on my dissertation. That support made a big difference during a busy time.

How Loughborough University London has prepared me for my career

Besides the academic side, like learning the theory behind things, what really stood out for me was how Loughborough University London helped me develop my soft skills. I’m naturally quite introverted, so the course gave me opportunities to work on networking and communicating with different audiences. Those skills have really helped me in my career and continue to benefit me even now.

My advice to future students

My advice to current or prospective students considering postgraduate study at Loughborough University London is to really make the most of the opportunities available not just academically, but also in terms of networking, group projects, and extra-curricular activities. One of the best things about the university is the diverse student community, with lots of international students, which gives you a great chance to learn about different cultures and perspectives.
