Lecturer in the Institute for International Management
Jukka Rintamäki is a Lecturer in International Management offering a fascinating insight into global business perspectives.
Jukka’s research is generally motivated by organization-related questions of justice and fairness. His interests are in a variety of topics, but his current primary research projects are related to collective memory, corporate (ir) responsibility, and workplace resistance. Jukka currently teaches corporate social responsibility / corporate political activity.
Prior to joining Loughborough University London, Rintamäki worked at Cass Business School for two years as a Marie Curie Fellow. Jukka completed a PhD at Aalto University, and has held visiting positions at Copenhagen Business School and Lund University. Dr Rintamäki previously taught corporate social responsibility and sustainability marketing and consumption on masters and undergraduate level.
Current research and collaborations
Jukka’s largest ongoing project concerns how we collectively remember and forget events and acts of corporate irresponsibility, and how perceptions of corporate responsibility and irresponsibility are constructed over time. This project involves collaboration with colleagues at the ETHOS Centre for Responsible Enterprise at Cass Business School. Another project Jukka’s working on is focused on why and how productive resistance fails to materialize in higher education organizations even when employees are faced with nasty, authoritarian management. This project involves collaboration with Lund University School of Business Administration's LUMOS group. Other fledgling projects include investigating the manufactured authenticity amongst populist leaders (with colleagues at Cass Business School), corruption among sports association leaders (with colleagues from University of Jyväskylä), and curated online selves among entrepreneurs (with colleagues from University of Alberta and University of Victoria).
