Fran Ahtuam

Throughout her working career Fran has worked in various roles and gained extensive knowledge in many areas of student services and support within the higher education sector.

With 14 years’ experience dealing with International students, as a Student Services Manager at Bellerbys College & Embassy CES London, she has dealt with all aspects of student support - her main focus being on Welfare support, UKVI compliance, and IELTS administration.

In 2013, Fran travelled and worked in Europe & Australia for a Melbourne based company, Endeavour Foundation, providing person-centred support for people with a disability as part of the everyday community - through education, training, life skills development, employment and housing.

Upon her return to the UK she worked for the University of East London as a Disabilities Adviser within the Regional Access Centre in Stratford, and supported students in gaining funding from Student Finance England and provided guidance and support on assistive software equipment for students with disabilities throughout their studies.

Academic background

In 2003 Fran completed a degree in Cultural Studies at The University of Surrey Roehampton, studying a rich variety of multicultural practices, involving critical theory of social, political and media implications. She is also a member of the National Association of Disability Practitioners, and a Mental Health First Aider.

Interests and activities

Outside of work, Fran loves travelling, photography, reading and listening to music. Fran is very excited to be working with colleagues and supporting students at Loughborough University London.
