Roy Meriton

Dr Roy Meriton is a Lecturer in Innovation and Entrepreneruship, teaching modules on innovation management and research methods.

Roy's research interests centre on disruptive technologies, such as Big Data and IoTs, as input resources to a firm's competitive posture. Roy is currently collaborating with academic colleagues from Leeds University and the Toulouse Business School on a project that seeks to illuminate how Big Data Analytics could be leveraged along the supply chain to develop supply chain resilience. 

Academic background

Roy's PhD interrogated the current understanding of organisational life. He drew on the resources of critical realism to examine the conditional influences of the organisational context and those of the individuals in shaping organisational behaviour. He also holds two master's degrees, including an MSc in Management completed with distinction from Leeds University Business School in 2011. Roy's earlier master's degree was completed in 2007 and focused on engineering and construction management. 

Current research and collaborations

Roy is currently working in close collaboration with academic colleagues from Leeds University Business School and the Institute for Manufacturing, based in Cambridge. The collaboration incorporates a number of research projects surrounding redistributed manufacturing, maker-spaces and data-enabled capabilities.

Current PhD / research supervisions

Roy is currently joint-supervising Yasmina Reuger, who is investigating the dynamics of user comments on a health portal from a social networking perspective.

Interests and activities

Roy maintains close links with the University of Leeds, the Supply Chain Council and the Business Continuity Institute. Roy is currently working closely with the Business Continuity Institute to develop a research project around the psychological drivers of business continuity and resilience.
