Angie Applegate

Angie has over 8 years experience in academic libraries, having worked across public and private HE institutions. She specialises in Library management, information literacy teaching and academic liaison in the arts.

Before joining Loughborough University London, Angie was the Acquisitions & Subscriptions Librarian at University of West London. Prior to this she held the position of Site Librarian and Academic Liaison Coordinator at Regent’s University London, managing their Fashion and Design library. She was also the former volunteer collections manager at the Feminist Library.

As the Academic Librarian in London, Angie offers specialist training and one-to-one advice on any information related query. This may include finding and using resources, academic skills, referencing, conducting a literature review and measuring research impact.

Angie is also responsible for buying books and journals for the Library in London. All Loughborough University London students, staff and PGRs can get in touch with Angie to request items to purchase, skills training or for any assistance with their research.

Academic background

Angie has an MA in Library and Information Studies from UCL and a BA in Social and Cultural Studies from the University of Nottingham.

Interests and activities

Angie is a member of Architectural Librarians Society (ARCLIB) and Art Libraries Society UK & Ireland. She also co-edits ARLISMatters blog.
