Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) committee
Diversity of experience, thought, and perspective enriches our university and enhances the lives of our community members. It is essential to our ongoing development as an international institution.
Our goal is to be recognised as a sector leader in identifying and removing systemic barriers related to race, ethnicity, national origin, class, socio-economic background, sexuality, gender identity, religion, faith, age, disability, marital status, or caring responsibilities –barriers that have historically prevented talented individuals from studying, working, or advancing with us.
We recognise that historically, differing access to education maintained social inequality. Although higher education has made strides in widening participation in recent decades, much work remains to achieve true equality in academic opportunity and attainment.
To advance this mission at Loughborough University London, we have established an Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) committee comprised of both staff and students.
Through our EDI Committee, we actively work to shape a diverse, inclusive campus.
The EDI Committee ensure that the London campus has an inclusive culture in which all staff and students feel valued, respected and engaged, in line with the University’s People and Organisational Development Strategy.
