Institute for Diplomacy and International Governance

As old paradigms and models continue to expose their limitations, there has never been a greater need for a new understanding of how the international arena works.

Our master's programmes all tackle contemporary international issues in context. You will develop a range of tools and skills to decode the world around you. Experts from academia and industry will share their insights (and secrets) to guide and support your own discoveries and learning.

You will work collaboratively with academic staff, with each other, and with outside organisations keen to support your development. You will be on a campus which hosts a team dedicated to supporting students' professional development through digital skills training, entrepreneurship opportunities, and many events involving outside organisations keen to meet you.

Inspiring location

Our London location means you will have the opportunity to build a professional learning experience that is tailored to your future career goals. From political advisor to trade negotiator, research analyst to business diplomat, you will find career inspiration on our doorstep.

Right next door to the campus are major media, financial and creative centres, alongside multinational organisations and small start-up enterprises.

Student testimonials

The roster of world class and top calibre professors is very impressive. The campus location is also amazing. For an international student like me, it is very thrilling to live and study in the UK and even more so, in London.

Errol, Security, Peace-Building and Diplomacy MSc student, 2020-2021

Loughborough University London is very culturally diverse university. Everyone is coming from a different parts of the world which really opens your eyes to other cultures and mindsets.

Andrea, Diplomacy, Statecraft and Foreign Policy MSc alumna (now entitled Diplomacy and International Governance MSc).

The thing that I enjoyed the most is the diversity in so many aspects of university life. Having classmates from different corners of the world allowed me to learn new ideas from people with different perspectives in our classroom discussions. From these discussions, I learned diverse approaches in looking into things using different perspectives. The vibrant classroom discussions enabled me to share my views on different topics at hand. Through these, learning is not only based on the professors' viewpoint, but also from the bright and diverse students from all over the world.
