We are delighted that you are considering Loughborough University London as your postgraduate destination. Our programmes begin in September 2017 and we are currently accepting applications. We advise you to apply as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

Before you apply
Choose a programme and check the entry requirements
Details of taught postgraduate programmes can be found in our programmes section. Make a note of the programme name and award (e.g. MSc) you wish to apply for and its entry requirements.
Check that you meet the English Language requirements
All international students are required to meet a minimum standard of English language ability. You can find details of the requirements and the qualifications we accept on the main Loughborough University website.
Establish the costs and find out your funding options
Ensuring you have the funds to pay for your programme and living costs is important. Our fees and finance pages offer practical information to help you establish the cost of your tuition fees and living expenses, and signpost helpful resources and financial support, such as the government's new Postgraduate Support Scheme.

Is there an application deadline?
There is no official deadline for applications, but many of our programmes receive large numbers of applications and places may become full quite quickly. We recommend that you submit your application as soon as possible to ensure you don't miss out on a place.
Can I apply before completion of my first degree or English Language qualification?
There is no need for you to have completed your first degree or met the English language qualifications before you apply. Instead, on submission of your application, you will receive a conditional offer, which will depend on the completion of your degree or receipt of your English Language qualification.
I'm a resident of Nigeria. What should I do?
Please be aware that certain applications from residents of Nigeria are referred to a third party. You can find more information on the main University website.
I've completed my application. What happens next?
Once you have submitted your application you will receive an automated email response to confirm that your application has been received.
How soon can I expect a response to my application?
We try to reach a decision as soon as possible, and you can help with this by including as much information as possible with your application. We normally aim to respond to an application within three weeks.
Once you have submitted your application, you will need to provide certified copies of supporting documents including:
Transcript of your current degree studies Degree certificate (if completed) English language qualifications (if English is not your first language)
If any of these documents are not in English, you will need to get them officially translated, and the translation will need to be certified.
If you applied through the on-line application portal, you can upload your documents by returning to the Application Portal and clicking 'View/Upload Documents'. You can upload your supporting documents at any time during the year.
How will I know if my application was successful?
If your application is successful, you will receive an offer letter. This may detail the conditions that need to be met for acceptance to a course, and will be accompanies by other information.
Is there any additional support for International applicants?
If you are a non UK/EU applicant, you will need to consider a few more steps before you begin your studies. The International Office is available to assist you and provide more information.

How do I apply for a visa?
You can find guidance on applying for a visa to study in the UK on the main Loughborough University website.
Pre-sessional English Language programmes
If you do not meet the English language requirements, you may be admitted to a pre-sessional English language programme offered by the University at our Loughborough campus.
There will be a number of opportunities during the pre-sessional course to travel to London and explore the campus and the city, and students will transfer to London for their degree programme following satisfactory progression from the pre-sessional course. Why is my offer conditional?
If your offer is conditional, you will need to send us evidence that you have met the conditions (e.g. degree results, English Language evidence) before you place at the University can be confirmed.

How do I pay my tuition fees?
You do not need to pay your fees in advance and you will not be billed until shortly after you have started your postgraduate course. For more information on tuition fees and methods of payments please take a look at the Student Finance Office website.
