Certificates and transcripts
Collecting your certificate in person at the ceremony:
If you are attending your graduation ceremony, your certificate will be presented to you by your Associate Dean or Head of Department as you leave the stage.
The Diploma Supplement can be printed out to keep with your degree certificate and academic transcript. It describes your award in more detail and may be useful if asked for further information about your qualification.
Collecting a certificate on behalf of someone else
It is not possible to collect certificates for other graduates on the graduation date. If students are unable to attend the graduation ceremony then they can ask to be sent the certificate via post.
The Graduation Office can post your certificate and transcript via recorded delivery if you are unable to attend your graduation ceremony. If you would like your certificate and transcript to be sent to you after the ceremony you can order this by visiting our online store. Certificates and transcripts will be sent out by the Graduation Office six to eight weeks after the ceremonies have finished.
Alternatively you can send confirmation of your address and a cheque made payable to “Loughborough University” for the appropriate amount to cover postage (£5 UK, £7.50 Europe, £10 Rest of World - non refundable).
Please note that your certificate and transcript will remain in the Graduation Office at Loughborough University until we hear from you.
Duplicate Certificates and Transcripts
Upon Graduation students are issued with a certificate and an academic transcript free of charge.
Please note that the University only issues ONE original certificate and academic transcript per student.
Certified copies of certificates and transcripts are available for a charge through the University's online store.
Your Name (how it appears on your certificate)
Your certificate is a formal record of your award and, as such, we prefer to use the formal version of your name for graduation purposes. Please note that it is in your own interest to advise us of changes to the spelling of or any additional/altered names immediately as any changes cannot be made after the production of your certificate.
Your name will appear in the ceremony programme, your certificate and transcript in the form 'first name(s) surname / family name' (Titles and other awards are not included). If your full name follows a different convention, you may apply, before your ceremony, for your certificate and programme (but NOT transcript) to be issued accordingly.
Use of the letters indicating your qualification, such as BSc, PhD or DLitt, is covered by formal guidance on Post-Nominal Letters.
