Lindsay studied Sport Digital and Media Technologies MSc (now Sport Analytics and Technologies).

Lindsay was searching for a postgraduate programme that connects digital innovations to sport business which Loughborough University London offered.

What were you doing before you started your master’s?

I was working as a Category Manager in a Global Sports brand company.

Why did you choose Loughborough University London?

I was looking for a postgraduate programme that connects digital innovations to sports business and Loughborough had the perfect fit for my needs.

What’s your favourite thing about Loughborough University London?

My favourite thing is that the University is located in London, an amazing global city. There are so many opportunities to learn, engage and to be connected to the industry while you fully enjoy the academic journey in the campus.

What helped you choose Loughborough University London?

I reached out to a Student Ambassador to find out more about Loughborough University London and their feedback was greatly helpful to make my final decision.

What did you enjoy the most about your course?

My favourite module was New Media and Analytics for Sport Business. It was full of such an eye-opening sessions and offered fantastic opportunities to interact with experts in the industry.

Describe a day in the life of a postgraduate student on your course

My day-to-day routine includes checking emails first thing to catch up on anything I have missed, attend lectures and working with fellow students on group assignments. In the evening, I go to networking parties or seminars to learn more about the market and get to know people in the industry.

Where do you see your career in 5 years’ time?

I hope to be a leader in the Sports Marketing industry.

How did you like to spend your time away from your studies?

Away from my studies, I liked to meet people and learn by attending as many seminars, conferences and networking parties as I could. It really helped me to come up with ideas on how to connect what I had learnt in my lectures to the real world. As well as this, I would go to gym to stay fit!

If you could give one piece of advice to a postgraduate student, what would it be?

Every minute counts. I knew the year would pass in an instance but I realised it's gone much faster. Grab every minute to learn, engage and participate to make the most of the academic year. Don't be afraid to fail, make mistake because you only learn from them! You are in the safest environment to learn something new.
