Please give a brief synopsis of what you are researching and why.
I'm concerned with how to generate positive changes towards sustainability in the systems and services that structure our lifestyles. To this end, I’m looking at the role of designers and the use of co-design practice in fostering sustainability transitions. This work will link the current trend towards user-centered services with the wider context of sustainable development.

Why did you choose Loughborough University London to undertake your PhD?
I wanted to move to London after graduation and Loughborough University London were offering a good studentship. They were also very supportive during my initial enquiry and throughout the application process.
Tell us about your academic background.
I studied Product Design Engineering at Loughborough (main campus) before coming starting my PhD at Loughborough University London in May.
What attracted you to your chosen research field?
This area of design is an exciting avenue towards addressing complex contemporary problems and building a sustainable society. My hope is that it puts me in good stead to do interesting and impactful work in the future.
Describe a day in the life of a PhD student.
Travelling up to campus or the library in the morning, picking up where I left off on whatever I’m currently reading, taking notes/ideas to use in the paper I’m writing or study I’m planning, then finding the next thing to read about.
How would you describe the research community on campus?
Everyone is quite new so we’re in the process of getting to know each other, developing the network and building the community.
