In this area we invite research proposals that have a focus on design–driven innovation exploring meaning making practices and materiality-related perspectives in multiple contexts and environments. The concerned is with the role and impact that design and designers may have as cultural intermediaries.
It is expected that candidates will be interested in researching the ways cultural meanings are inscribed in the products and services that designers as well as exploring the ways products and services are used everyday life. The aim is to better understand material effects of design practices. Successful candidates are expected to have completed relevant studies in Design, Innovation Studies, Management, Social and Cultural Studies, Anthropology or similar.
