Leading Organisations welcome students to their offices across London

Over 400 students were invited to offices across London to meet representatives from their partner organisation for the Collaborative Project module.

The Collaborative Project module is studied by most students in the first semester. For the duration of the module, students from a range of programmes work together to solve a problem or objective put forward by an organisation.

412 students are taking part in the Collaborative Project module this year, and were invited to meet their project partners on site last week. Site visits took place at Blaze, North Highland, Crate Brewery, Digital Skills Solutions, the Department for International Trade at China-Britain Business Council (CBBC), HeyBigMan!, Foster & Partners, Two Circles, Active Newham, West Ham United.

Student Jac Kou visited Foster and Partners at their offices at London Bridge and said:

There was a lot to takeaway from the visit, however one piece stood out the most. They asked us to think of an everyday problem that you wish to change and then consider how to solve it. That’s what we wish to do with our collaborative project

Jac Kou, Student at Loughborough University London

Student Owen Betteridge visited the West Ham United Foundation at their offices and said:

My group had the unbelievable opportunity to interview both the Senior Football Development Officer and The Football Development Manager of the Foundation. These interviews lasted for over an hour and were truly enthralling! Being able to pose questions and business ideas to senior members of the Foundation was an invaluable experience

Owen Betteridge, student at Loughborough University London

Students working with Blaze visited Blaze HQ in Bethnal Green last Wednesday. The students saw how a start up business operates and were also introduced to the design and engineering that goes into Blaze safety products.

Speaking of the Collaborative Project, Rachel Thompson, Head of Community at Blaze said:

We enjoy working with the students and staff at Loughborough University London. It's great to gain the insight and input of a broad range of students, and they are thoroughly engaged by the tasks in hand.

Rachel Thompson, Head of Community at Blaze
