‘Etc. Nights’ - Scaling your Tech Business

Join us for our very first ‘Etc. Night’ of 2017 unwrapping the secrets of start-up through the journeys of real life entrepreneurs who have taken their concept and made it into a reality.

Laurence is the founder and CEO of Pavegen, a clean-tech company that has pioneered a flooring technology, generating electricity from the kinetic energy of footsteps. Having graduated with a 1st class honours in Industrial Design and Technology from Loughborough University, Laurence launched the business and filed the first patents from his bedroom with £200, in 2009.

Since inception, Pavegen have taken the technology to production and delivered commercial projects for some of the biggest global brands, such as: Nike, Coca Cola, Heathrow Airport, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Diageo, Lexus, Ford Motor Company, London 2012 Olympics, and Europe’s largest shopping centre, Westfield.

Laurence was the youngest CEO of a delegation of leading British companies, joining the Prime Minister, David Cameron, on a state visit to China.

‘Etc. Nights’ are fun, informal, insightful events that offer those interested in developing their ideas the opportunity to unpick the highs and lows of funding, starting and scaling your own business. We will be serving local alcoholic and soft drinks, tickets are free – so what are you waiting for?
